IRIS BOG HANDWEAVING AND FIBERARTS is the studio of handweaver/fiberartist Diane Morrow. Although her primary focus is handwovens, Diane's fascination with fibers, colors and textures is always leading her down new paths including traditional rug hooking, felting and papermaking. Each piece (or set) is a one of a kind creation designed and handmade by Diane.
Iris Bog offers a wide variety of products ranging from rag rugs to mats to shawls to throws. They are all made to be used. "It's important to me to bring beauty to everyday function. Since life can't be all function, there are decorative items as well."
Diane uses a variety of materials, mostly natural fibers such as cotton, wool, rayon and linen. Many components of her work are vintage or recycled materials recovered from attics and estate sales. Friends have come to know that Diane is the embodiment of the old adage "One woman's junk is another woman's treasure."
Intrigued by the endless possibilities of warp and weft combinations, Diane utilizes a wide array of weaving techniques including traditional Appalachian patterns, rag construction and original designs.
Pieces showcased on this website change frequently, so visit often. If you don't see what you are looking for, contact Iris Bog about a special order. Diane loves the challenge of bringing your idea to life.
